SIGMA

After much anticipation, I finally got my Sigma Beauty makeup brushes in the mail yesterday....it's like Christmas in  April!

I ordered the F80 Flat Kabuki, E15 Flat Definer, E40 Tapered Blending, and the E65 Small Angle brushes.

After watching so many YouTube videos and tutorials about makeup and brushes, I finally convinced myself that I needed to order Sigma brushes!

The quality of the brushes is unreal, and they are cheaper than MAC brushes, which is a real plus.

Today, I used the F80 brush to apply my liquid foundation. It is absolutely the perfect tool for blending out the foundation and leaves a flawless face...not a streaky one.

I used the E40 Tapered Blending brush very quickly to blend out my eyeshadow.  It's the perfect brush to use to get rid of those harsh lines and let the eyeshadow blend out.

I also used the E15 Flat Definer brush to fill in my eyebrows...and let me tell you - I don't know why I waited so long to get this brush. The hairs are nice and stiff , making it very easy to get that defined eyebrow. It is a MUST have for anyone's makeup brush collection.

I can't wait to try out the E65 brush to do my black gel eyeliner tomorrow. If it's anything like the other Sigma brushes, I won't be disappointed.

If you make an online order in the month of April, use the Promo Code AAM2013. Basically they always have a 10% off code, so check online before you place your orders to get the discount!

Because my order was over $30, they also sent me a free gift...a tiny pink E05 Eyeliner brush...perfect to bring on the go in a makeup bag!

Do you use Sigma brushes? If so, which ones would you recommend?

FEAST

If you don't know me, let me just tell you -- I. LOVE. FOOD.

A couple friends and I wanted to try out a Mediterranean restaurant last night that was supposed to compare/live up to my absolute favorite restaurant, Open Sesame. We went to a restaurant called Magic Lamp.

We started our meal off with a Strawberry Mimosa for $5 on Happy Hour....you can't go wrong with champagne!

We ordered the Spicy Humus (above) and the Batata Harra (Spicy Potatoes) for our appetizers.  The Spicy Potatoes were amazing...a bit soaked too much in the juice, but amazing nonetheless.

On the other hand, their Spicy Humus was the biggest disappointment.  It did not taste like the consistency of hummus at all -- it was too creamy of a texture and didn't have a great flavor.  It actually wasn't even spicy! I was quite sad about the spicy humus, since I am a hummus lover!

For my main entree, I ordered the Chicken Tawook (kabobs) - above.  The chicken was nice and tender, and their garlic sauce was great as well.  The dish came with spicy hummus -- how disappointing.  The salad was a little lacking with the dressing, but the croutons on top were to die for!  Sadly, the mediterranean pickles and pickled radish was very soggy -- and the pickle is usually one of my favorite parts about coming to a Mediterranean restaurant.

Overall, I would say the chicken tawook kabobs were the best part of everything I had.  I unfortunately still love Open Sesame much much more.  Nothing has compared.

BIRTHDAY MONTH AT SEPHORA

On my recent trip to Sephora, I picked up a mini bottle of the Josie Maran Argan Oil for part of my best friend's birthday gift.  When I checked out, I received my birthday gift from being a SEPHORA Beauty Insider......and I'm so excited to try out the two new products.

The first gift is the benefit They're Real! Mascara -- the bottle is quite compact, and the wand looks amazingly crisp.  I think this mascara will be the perfect fit for my purse!

The second item in the birthday package is the benefit Watt's Up! Highlighter.  It functions almost like a lipstick and gives off a very light golden shimmer - the perfect color for highlighting the top of your cheekbones...and maybe even under the brow bone.

I'm so happy with my surprise birthday gift..my birthday isn't until next month!!
xoxo

NYX GIRLS

I love going to little clothing stores -- not only for the amazingly trendy and cheap clothes, but for the NYX Cosmetics products!

Besides spending about $80 bucks on clothes, I decided to pick up three NYX Girls Nail Polishes.  I only have one NYX Girls nail polish (Lapis) and I absolutely love the color of it, and the fact that it did not chip!  The quality of the nail polish is divine -- and definitely worth more than the $1.99 that it costs.

I picked up three bottles - Bermuda Triangle, Lapis (just in case I run out), and Algae.  I guess I was feeling the blue/teal/purple spectrum this week.

Bermuda Triangle is more of an aqua blue.
Lapis is a light lavendar/blue color.
Algae is more of a green-tinted blue.

I'm currently wearing the Algae color on my nails and it has not disappointed!!

Do you have any NYX Girls Nail Polishes...and if so, which colors are your fav?

HAPPY SPRING!

ULTA HAUL

Alright -- I was terrible and took advantage of that 20% off Friends and Family coupon at ULTA last week. And boy did I do some damage shopping!

The first thing I picked up was the ULTA brand Sheer Fragrance Mist in Flower Blossom.  It is such a large bottle for such a good price -- It was about $7 on sale.  The scent Flower Blossom is obviously a very floral scent, but it is not overpowering.  It's simple, but can definitely brighten the day.  I've been wearing it every day and LOVE it.

The next thing I picked up was the Loreal True Match LUMI Foundation in the shade n1-2.  I actually already have this same foundation, but in an even lighter shade.  I love the dewey finish with this liquid foundation, but I needed it in one shade darker.  This is a great drugstore foundation at only $12.99 regular price.

I also decided to pick up my second ever Maybelline New York Color Tattoo in the color Barely Branded. I actually used it for the first time this morning and love the champagne shade it gives off.  The texture of the Color Tattoos is so smooth and easy to apply on a quick makeup day.

I decided to go all for it and finally buy a bright purple lipstick! I bought one of the new shades of the Maybelline New York Vivids Lipsticks - in the shade Brazen Berry.  I have been wearing it all weekend and I love the color with my...can you say....pale skintone! It's a perfect pop of color for Spring, and it has great pigmentation!

I FINALLY splurged and bought the Urban Decay NAKED BASICS Palette after seeing so many Beauty Bloggers rant and rave about the palette.  I am a big fan of matte eyeshadows, and this palette is packed with them!  The palette has the perfect amount of shadows, and doesn't come with an eyeshadow brush -- making it perfect to carry on the go in your purse with your favorite brush.  The six eyeshadows are the essential neutrals that can be used every single day.  I am loving the palette already.  It's a great $27 investment to my collection, and I definitely recommend it.

The one hair product that I picked up was the Macadamia NATURAL OIL Deep Repair Masque.  I decided to buy the 1 fl. oz. packet - basically the sample packet.  I don't want to invest in a $30 jar of the Deep Repair Masque before I try it out.  I can't wait to use this masque.  This is another one of those products that is highly recommended by many beauty bloggers and YouTube Beauty gurus, so I just HAD to pick it up. Hopefully this $4 one-time use packet will be worth it!

I've been using the same Eyebrow Powder for years now, so I decided to try something new.  I picked up the NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in the shade Brunette.  It comes with a darker, more charcoal brown, and a dark brown powder, as well as a wax to help keep your eyebrow hairs in place.  I used this for my eyebrows a few days ago and felt as though it was the same as the eyebrow powder I have been using (I normally use the Maybelline Ultra Brow Eyebrow Powder in Dark Brown).  The NYX brand is a good alternative I will use if the Maybelline powder is out of stock at the drugstore.  I also love the fact that it comes with the wax!

Lastly, I picked up the Loreal True Match Compact Makeup.  I absolutely love the smoothness of the makeup, but the shade is much too light for me - so this purchase was a bust.  I am interested in buying the Loreal True Match Powder, since that seems to be a hit with many bloggers.  At least I was successful with the rest of my purchases!

Overall, it was a VERY successful ULTA shopping trip.  Have you used any of these products before?
Let me know what you think!

SPREE

So......I did some serious damage at ULTA Beauty - thanks to their 20% off Friends & Family Coupon that they sent out via email today.  At least it saved me $30 bucks!

I picked up so many goodies...fragrance mist, a hair masque, and one a lot of makeup.  It's safe to say I may or may not have a shopping problem. HAHA!

ULTA Haul coming soon!!!  But here's a sneak peak....

SPRITZ

Today I tried out my new Agadir Argan Oil Spritz Finishing Styling Spray.

I am in love! I started with using a bit of my It's A 10 Leave-In Conditioner on my boring straight hair.

I curled my hair in one-two inch sections with my 1" Conair curling iron.

After finishing my whole head, I combed my fingers through the curls to help loosen them. I don't want to show up to work looking like Shirley Temple, people!

Yikes!!

I then sprayed the Agadir Spritz over my curls and combed through them with my fingers again.

Oh. My. Goodness. The spray smells so pure and isn't too fragrant. It left my hair nice and shiny, but not greasy (greasy hair is never a good look). I also have noticed throughout the day that I prefer this spray much more over hairspray. Main reason: my hair isn't crunchy!! And I can still comb my fingers through it without tearing out clumps of my hair!

Overall, I highly recommend this product...for goodness sakes it's only about $7 at the CVS drugstores! I'm so glad I watched Jaclyn Hill's YouTube hair tutorial where she recommended it. (Check out her videos at www.youtube.com/jaclynhill1)

It is a must-buy!
