If you know me, you know I love me some country music.  The lyrics in country music are like no other -- they are stories.  Relatable stories.

A few friends and I went to Cowboy Country the other week to see our friend's band play.  We all had such a great time listening to music, drinking Coors Light, and watching the couples line dance!

I tried to document my Outfit of the Day.

Curls in my hair...
Lace peplum top from Marshalls...
And some cowboy boots from Boot Barn...

Do you like country music too?!

Jewelry haul!!
I went to Forever 21 the other day....and stocked up on some of my favorite accessories -- RINGS!!  Forever 21 is the perfect store to find trendy rings for an affordable price.  I had a gift card from my birthday to use..and I used it all on rings!

I just wanted to share some of the jewelry that I picked up.  I was so glad to see that they finally started to carry midi rings!!  I bought the cross, lightning bolt, hexagon midi rings in gold and silver....and I bought two of each.

I decided to buy double of all of the midi rings because I have noticed that Forever 21 jewelry doesn't always stay stocked for a long time.  Different locations tend to have different items, they're not always online, and when you see it in the store, it might be gone from that store the next day!  Hence the buying double of everything I loved :)

I really liked this last gold's sort of a staggered set of wings.

Have you seen any good websites to buy cheap trendy jewelry on? If so, leave me a comment so I can check out their online store!

This is just going to be a short and sweet post.
Last Friday, I took the day off of work.....just because.  I actually have a lot of vacation hours saved up, so might as well, right?!

This is what my day looks like when I take the day off: shopping, eating, drinking, reading magazines, taking pictures, and sitting in the sun with my dog while I am browsing Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest!

On a sad note....I lost those Vogue Sunglasses as of yesterday morning.  They were the only pair that I spent over $100 on......I usually buy cheaper sunglasses from Nordstrom, and have received one pair of Ray Bans from my sister as a gift.  I am so bummed out.  I'm not one to lose my keys or phone or wallet every other day.  I always know where everything is. Until today.  So sad I lost my favorite pair of sunnies :'(

I am a lover of drugstore makeup -- and drugstore foundations are hands-down worth every single penny!  I tend to buy my drugstore makeup at Target, since it is always the cheapest compared to stores like CVS or Walgreens.

My three all time favorite drugstore foundations are:
1. REVLON Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup
2. RIMMEL LONDON Match Perfection Light Perfecting Radiance Sunscreen Foundation
3. LOREAL PARIS True Match Super-Blendable Make-Up

REVLON Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup
My shade: Nude 220
This is the first of any whipped foundations I have tried.  It comes in such beautiful packaging -- the glass container is large and very good quality.  The foundation claims to last for 24 hours....I don't think anyone I know wears their makeup for 24 hours straight, so I can't tell you if that's true or not.

But I can say that this foundation literally lasts all day long.  I usually prime it with my Sephora Smoothing Primer, and set the foundation with my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural -- and it stays on all day.  It doesn't even get oily in my T-Zone which is a huge plus.  The foundation has a satin finish and looks flawless.  It is so worth it for $11.99 at Target.

RIMMEL LONDON Match Perfection Light Perfecting Radiance Sunscreen Foundation
My shade: Light Nude 102
I tried this foundation about six months ago and haven't been able to stop using it.  The formula is great and leaves your face looking smooth, with a little bit of a dewey finish.  The foundation itself has an SPF of 18, which is always good to have.  Along with a SPF moisturizer, your face is covered.  I'd say this is a medium-coverage foundation, because my freckles still peek through.  One thing I especially love about this foundation is that you get so much for the money!  It is only $4.97 at Walmart (such a steal) and you get quite a lot of foundation in the bottle.  Another bonus: it smells great!! Don't's not an overly fragrant foundation, but you get a beautiful scent when you apply it.  It just puts a smile on my face :)

LOREAL PARIS True Match Super-Blendable Make-Up
My shade: Nude Beige W3 (warm)
I have been using the True Match foundation for years!  I definitely think it is a foundation that should be in everyone's collection.  NOt only does Loreal have a plethora of shades to choose from (from warm to neutral to cold), the formula is to die for.  This foundation has an SPF of 17, so it is a great added bonus to protecting your face from harm. It claims to be "oil free" and "all day wear."  From my experience, the shades in this line are great for matching your face.  The finish is satin to dewy, again.  But I must say, towards the end of the day, my face does get a little oily.  I don't mind bringing around my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in my purse, but just so you know.  I highly recommend this line of foundation to every one -- no matter what your skin type is.  It is about $7.99 at Target.

What are your favorite drugstore foundations?!  Have you tried any of these?!

I am a fan of all different brands of makeup brushes.  I don't mind using cheap brushes...sometimes they work the best!  For me, if the brush does its job, I'm going to use it.

My favorite makeup-brushes of all time are from four different brands, surprisingly.

1. Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki
2. Target's Up & Up Crease Brush
3. Real Techniques Domed Shadow Brush
4. Bare Escentuals Brush for Bronzer

The Sigma F80 brush is THE perfect brush for applying liquid or whipped foundation.  Hands down, it is the best brush I own.  The brush is very compactly packed with brush hairs, so it's stiff enough, but it is SO soft on the face.  It leaves your foundation blended so smoothly on your face without streaks.  It is $18 at Sigma Beauty.

The Crease Brush from Up & Up, Target's general brand, is something I use EVERY time I put on eyeshadow.  It's great to use for applying eyeshadow all over your lid, adding a softer shadow in the crease, and for blending.  It does everything!! It is only about $1-3 at Target.

The Real Techniques Domed Shadow Brush is so beautiful, right?! That purple shade is gorgeous to just stare at.  The shadow brush makes it so easy to pack on color on your lid.  The bristles are quite soft, and it's extremely easy to clean. I purchased this at Ulta in the Travel Essentuals Kit.  It comes with the foundation brush, this shadow brush, and the multi-task brush.  I REALLY didn't like the foundation brush.  It literally hurts when I use it on my face -- I think the hairs are too hard, and when I applied my liquid foundation with it, I had to use so much more foundation because the brush just ate it all up!  So if anything, get the Domed Shadow Brush alone :)  The entire kit is about $18 at ULTA.

Last is the Bare Escentuals brush.  I got this brush from a bronzer kit I got from Sephora.  I use this every single day for applying bronzer to contour my cheeks and forehead.  It has coarse brown bristles, and has almost a U-shape.  It is the most random brush, since it came with a bronzer in a kit, but it has become so useful!  It makes it so easy to get a great contour on your cheek.  I don't think you can purchase it alone, but if anything, check out the Bare Minerals collection at Sephora.

What are your favorite brushes?!

I recently discovered this absolutely amazing food blog called Sally's Baking Addiction.  She posted a recipe for S'more Cookie Bars and if you know anything about me, you know that I LOVE s'mores.  I used to go camping at Yosemite every year with my family and my favorite part of the entire trip would be roasting marshmallows by the campfire for tons and tons of s'mores. Hence the food baby I am always adding to.

The pictures on Sally's food blog were absolutely gorgeous (like always), so I just had to try the recipe out.

The receipe is quite simple, doesn't call for too many ingredients, and it doesn't even take that long!

Annnnnnnnd here's the finished result!

I was so pleased with the way the bars turned out...they were extremely sweet and nice and soft -- not crunchy.  I enjoyed them with a HUGE glass of milk.

If I were to make them again, I'd love to pick up a gallon of vanilla ice cream and top the warm s'more cookie bars with a scoop of freezing cold ice cream.  It would probably be heaven.

Once again, a big thank you to Sally from Sally's Baking Addiction for the recipe.  I had so much fun with my baking adventure.

Do you have any favorite recipes I should try?!

I am a big fan of e.l.f. Cosmetics -- Eyes Lips Face

Not only are the products extremely inexpensive, but they are staples in my everyday makeup routine!

The product prices are amazing.  The general line of products are usually priced at $1.  The "Studio" items are usually the $3 ones.  And larger studio items are the $6 ones.  In my mind, that is a steal!  I usually get my e.l.f. products on their website,, or at my favorite place, Target.

Here are my absolute favorite e.l.f products -- I use most of them every single day.

Studio Blush in Pink Passion, $3
This is a nice bright pink -- it goes on lighter than expected, but it adds the perfect hot pink to your face.  It's a great look to wear if you want that sweet, light, summery pink shade.

Studio Lotion Wipes in Milk & Honey, $3
(Cucumber & Melon is my other favorite)
These lotion wipes are the best invention!  I can be quite lazy sometimes, and I don't want to leave the house in shorts or a dress with dry legs.  I don't always have time to slater lotion or body butter all over my legs when I'm on the lotion wipes are the perfect solution!!  They are very refreshing and so quick to just rub on your legs/arms and go!  The scents from these wipes are amazing, but not overpowering.

Studio Eyebrow Kit in Dark, $3
This eyebrow kit comes with a creamy dark brown, and a brown powder.  I use the dark brown powder to fill in my eyebrows every never disappoints.  The product is very explanation necessary :)

Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in St. Lucia, $3
This is by far my FAVORITE of my favorites. I've been using it for YEARS if that says anything.  I continue to grab this $3 duo time after time.  I actually use this kit for the bronzer -- to contour my cheeks, and add definition and a bronzy look to my face.  The bronzer goes on so smoothly.  It is a beautiful bronze with a touch of  shimmer.  I know some people aren't fans of shimmery bronzers, but you seriously can't notice the shimmer in this bronzer.....which is a good thing!   It is seriously so worth the $3.....I would pay $30 for this amazing product.  I highly recommend it to everyone.  If you had to choose one cheap drugstore makeup product for life, I would choose this one.  It's that good!

Essential Liquid Eyeliner in Black, $1
My last favorite would have to be the black liquid eyeliner.  I have tried high-end liquid liners, but I still go back to this $1 eyeliner.  You can get such a steady, precise line with the applicator brush.  The eyeliner does not smudge at all, which is great not to worry about throughout the day.  It's a simple eyeliner that works better than any other that I've tried.

I hope you enjoyed this type of post....let me know if you'd like me to do more like this.  And a big thank you to anyone reading this :)

Have you tried any e.l.f. products?! If so, which are your favorites?

A few years back, I got this mustache case for my new iPhone.  I got it from Forever 21 and there was only one in the entire store!  A few months after I had the phone case, my friends and I threw a birthday party for my cousin on a Duffy Boat -- but it was a themed birthday party!  MUSTACHE THEME! We literally made mustache cookies, cupcakes with mustache fondant models on them, had mustache cups customized for every person attending the party (we used puffy paint to write their nickname on the cup, and drew a mustache that reminded us of them) so they could drink out of it during the boat ride.

We had a mustache shot glass for the birthday boy, a mason jar that was labeled "My Stache" to collect birthday money, we had mustache straws for our cups, and to top it all off we had mustache stickers to put on our faces! (Girls too haha)

Ever since that party, I started to see mustaches everywhere.  Stores started stocking I <3 Mustache shirts, there were many more phone cases to choose from, and they even re-stocked the same mustache iPhone case at Forever 21 that I had originally gotten a couple of years ago!

My friends now know me as a mustache lover.  Every time they see something with a mustache on it, they buy it for me.

For my birthday in May, one of my best friends got me this adorable mint colored mustache flask!  Isn't that the cutest idea?! It looks like I have a mustache when I drink out of it!

She also got me mustache push pins, and a mustache keychain that speaks!! My other best friend got me these furrrrry mustaches to put on.....hopefully for our next party.

Yay for mustache love!

Are there any trends like this where you live?

I'm addicted to magazines.

Admitting it is the first they say.

For as long as I can remember, I have been picking up magazines at the grocery store with my mom, subscribing to Teen People, then Teen Vogue.  The list goes on.

I just wanted to share some of my favorite magazine subscriptions with you!

Marie Claire
Us Weekly

Elle, Marie Claire, and Glamour Magazine are great for getting quick fashion ideas.

Allure is great for makuep, hair, and skin care product recommendations.

Cosmopolitan is great for relationship and women advice ;)

Yes.....I subscribe to Us Weekly -- it's my guilty pleasure! I watch too many reality shows NOT to keep up with these types of magazines

What are your favorites?!

Meet Chloe! She's my beautiful yellow lab.....who's amazingly 8 years old (but she acts like she's a newborn pup)! After I got my new camera, I can't stop taking pictures of her!  Sorry for the overload.

Oh...and I had to share this one of her -- it looks like she turned and did a model shot to smile for the camera! My sister and I died laughing after seeing this!

Oh and I definitely know she belongs in my family....she loves Starbucks!  Who knew?! HAHA

I'd love it if you'd follow me on Bloglovin!

My sister bought our niece her first little pink bike....and I just had to share!

She assembled the bike on Father's Day, polished the whole thing, and even bought some pink streamers for the handlebars (after I took this picture).  I just thought it couldn't be any cuter.

Our niece is only 9 months old right now - and my sister plans on giving it to her for her 1st Birthday......even though she won't be able to ride it for a while.

Thank you!!

It's that time again.....time to compare the monthly beauty subscription boxes. Once again, the Glambag blew me away this month.  But surprisingly, the Birchbox was full of some pretty great surprises.

First up was the June ipsy Glam Bag.  Once I opened up the package of pink bubblewrap, I was pleasantly surprised to see a leopard print bag...with a beautiful yellow neon zipper.  I think they won me over right then and there.

Inside my ipsy Glam Bag this month was a full-size Cailyn Black Gel Eyeliner.  It came in such a unique container...with a brush hidden in the handle!  Next up was a full-size NYX Blush in Sand.  It's a very bronze blush with a bit of gold shimmer.  It looks more like a bronzer to me.  Also in my bag was a full-size J.Cat Beauty Sparkling Cream Palette.

I also got a full-size Chella Highlighter Pencil in Ivory Lace, as well as a full-size Starlooks Lip Pencil in Bare.

Hands down, Glam Bag wins me over every time for the wide selection, as well as the abundance of full-size products.  It's funny how the larger products can make us beauty bloggers so happy!!

I can't wait to try out all of these products -- besides the darker lip pencil, I think I'll be using everything pretty frequently!

Next up is the June Birchbox.

Birchbox recently did a relaunch, changed their logo a bit, and seemed to be opening up in every country.  In my Birchbox, I got a travel-size Klorane Dry Shampoo, a mini Color Club Nail Polish in a beautiful neon coral color called Reign in Spain, a Mirenesse Glossy Kiss stick in Perfect Kiss, two samples of 100% Pure Nourishing Body Cream (Coconut & Vanilla Bean),  a Suki Skin Care Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser, and some adorable postcards!

The only "full-size" product that was in this Birchbox was be the Glossy Kiss stick -- which was a pinky coral shade with some multi-colored shimmer, that can be used for the lips or the cheeks.  It's a great product since you can use it in multiple ways.  Definitely perfect to take in your purse on the go.

The lemongrass extract + natural sugar scent of that exfoliating cleanser smells divine!! So fresh!

I actually already tried out the dry shampoo.  The spray nozzle on the bottle is absolutely amazing.  It comes out with enough force and it has an even spray.

I can't wait to try that nail polish -- it's a much brighter shade than I normally go for, but I want to try the neon trend for sure!

My favorite item in the Birchbox would have to be the postcards!  There are postcards of New York, Paris, London, and Barcelona -- I'm assuming it's the four main offices that Birchbox now has. The graphic designer of the postcards is absolutely brilliant!  I can't wait to use them.

Overall, I was very happy with both the ipsy Glam Bag and the Birchbox this month...but I'd have to say the Glam Bag won me over in June!

Do you get any subscription boxes?

Okay....who doesn't look to look at pictures of food?!

My mom cooked yet another feast for my family....and this time it was for Father's Day!

We celebrated with some spinach dip and hawaiian bread to start.

Then for the main course, we had some garlic bread, a Caesar salad, and spaghetti.  Every single bite was mouth watering and full of flavor.  I always love it when my mom makes spaghetti...mostly because it's my Grandma's recipe.  My grandma was such a good cook -- I miss her so much!

What did you all eat for Father's Day?!

Monday, June 17, 2013

This is a day late...but Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there!

Happy Father's Day to my Dad!  Thanks to the man who taught me how to ride a to drive a car...and how to drink! :)

Love you, Dad!

Oh -- and Happy Father's Day in Heaven to my two grandpas and my Great Grandpa!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day yesterday.

I absolutely love having fresh flowers all around the the kitchen, my room, my desk, the bathroom, everywhere!  They add so much color and an amazing fragrance to any room.  And they add a touch of daintiness everywhere.  Fresh flowers make me so happy!

I stopped at Trader Joe's and picked up two boquets of flowers....only $3.99 each!

I always go to Trader Joe's because they have the best selection...and usually the best prices for flowers.  I like to mix and match the flowers, put them in mason jars with raffia, old root beer bottles, old 7up bottles....anything!

Here's my DIY Project :)
