...I work at a small company with 7 full-time employees.  One just quit (no 2-weeks notice), and one just had her baby (yay!) so she is on maternity leave......so starting from yesterday, I have had to do three jobs.

Today was a tough, long day....and it's going to be a busy several (hopefully not too many) weeks month or two ahead.

.....so I won't be able to blog much :(

Thanks for visiting my blog anyways!

This morning my sister and I had breakfast at the Blackbird Cafe! It's a cute little neighborhood cafe near where she lives.

My sister got an iced coffee and the Dos Caballeros....
and I got a HUGE bowl of Hot Chocolate, Coffee, and the Breakfast Quesadilla.

Everything...and I mean everything was delicious.  We specifically sat outside in the patio, so we could get great pictures of the food -- pure dedication haha. The atmosphere of the cafe is very casual and family-friendly.  There were even a few people sitting in the patio area who brought their dogs!

I hope you're all having a great Sunday!

It's that time again!!! Getting a little package in the mail every month is such a treat!! I was very impressed with the contents of my Glam Bag this month......let me show you what I got!!

As you can see, the items came in a bright neon pink clean tube-shaped bag.  It's definitely not my favorite looking bag, but it's very appropriate for the Summer!

The first item I noticed was the BH Cosmetics "California Collection" eyeshadow palette trio.  The purple shade is from the 'BH Hollywood' palette, the bronze/taupe shade is from the 'BH San Francisco' palette, and the yellow gold shade is from the 'BH Malibu' palette.  They were so tricky!! They gave us a shade from three different palettes -- a pretty smart marketing scheme...since if we like a color, we'll obviously want to buy the whole palette it comes in.

I am a huge fan of purple eyeshadow on brown eyes, but from the swatch, the purple shade seemed to be a bit light in color-payoff. The San Francisco shade seems more of my style -- a shimmery neutral color.  You can never go wrong with neutrals!! I can't wait to try out all three of these!

The other four items included in the Glam Bag were:

Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray
First of all...this spray bottle is HUGE!!  This product alone makes this $10/month ipsy subscription worth it.  I am always willing to try out beach sprays, even though my hair is straight (thanks to being half Japanese....thanks, mom).  I couldn't wait and have used this beach spray twice in the past week.  It smells like the beach.  There's no question about that.  I noticed that it actually did add a lot of texture and spunk to my hair.  What a great sample product!

Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Fuchsia Flirt
Lip products are my love! And easy crayons like this make life so much easier! This Fuchsia Flirt shade is actually more of a baby pink shade when I applied it to my lips....not so much fuchsia.  It has a twist-up bottom, so you don't have to worry about bringing a pencil sharpener in your purse.  So convenient!  The crayon applies extremely smooth and is even shiny!

Benefit Benetint
Let's all just take a moment of silence for this Benetint.
Okay.  I have been wanting to purchase Benetint for YEARS! For some reason, every time I walk into ULTA or Sephora, I HAVE to try on Benetint....and yet I have never purchased it.  Crazy, right?! Anyways, I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ...O excited that this teeny tiny bottle of Benetint was in my bag this month.  I practically squealed when I saw it! Benetint can be used on your cheeks as a blush, or on your lips as a very light lip stain.  It has such a beautiful and yummy rose smell to it.  It is to die for.  It is worth all of the hype.  I will be using it for my lips -- not so much for my cheeks -- for just a natural looking pink tint.  Thank you, ipsy!!!

COOLA Mineral Sunscreen Tinted Moisturizer
This is the only product that I wasn't very excited about.  I've heard of the COOLA brand before, because I've received a mini bottle of sunscreen in a previous box.  This, however, is a tinted moisturizer.  More intriguing, but just not as exciting.  It claim to be 20 SPF and have environmental protection (whatever that means).  Small samples like this are just not my cup of tea, but that won't stop me from trying it :) You never know....it could be amazing!

I hope you enjoyed seeing the contents of my July Glam Bag!

Do any of you have this same subscription?! Did you get the same items as me?!

Thank you to Carrieanne and Lisa from the cute blog called "Beauties Unlocked" for tagging me in this post.  Check out their blog (full of makeup, nails, skincare, and more) and follow them on Bloglovin!

I've never done a "TAG" blog post before, but there's always a first for everything.  I hope you guys enjoy this  :)

What do you order at Starbucks?
I like to change it up! If the sun is out, I'll get a Venti Black Tea Lemonade...sweetened of course (I'm drinking one as I type).  I also love the Iced Caramel Macchiatos with extra caramel drizzle and no whipped cream.  Or the Caramel Frappuccino with no whipped cream.  Can you tell I like caramel?

If it's cooler, I'll usually get a Hot Caramel Macchiato or a Hot Chocolate.  Mmmmm Starbucks.  I'm sure all of you that follow me on Twitter and Instagram know that I love Starbucks like no other.

What's one thing in your closet you can't live without?
High-waisted black pants/leggings. I think high-waited pants are so flattering and they can easily be paired with everything. Oh...and they're so comfy!

What's one thing people don't know about you?
Although I LOVE makeup now...at the school I went to (Kindergarten through 8th Grade), we weren't allowed to wear ANY makeup.  When I graduated 8th grade and was going to begin High School, my sister got me a little makeup bag full of the essentials...and I only more recently began getting really into it (10 years later).  I applaud everyone who can pull off a no-makeup look every day, but I honestly enjoy putting on makeup every day, so might as well!

What's one thing you want to do before you die?
I want to travel.  I live in California and have only traveled to Hawaii (when I was 6 years old) and Las Vegas, NV (not considered traveling in my mind).  If I had enough money to travel, I would love to go to New York, Italy, France, England, Greece, Ireland, Canada, and Australia....to name a few.

What's one food you cant live without?
Ranch.  Preferably french fries and ranch!

What's one quote you live by?
When all else fails, take a nap

What do you like and dislike about the blogging community?
I love learning about new products...whether they are makeup, hair, food, or skincare products. I am a huge fan of photography, so I especially love blogs that have amazing photos -- especially those food blogs! I like to know about other products before purchasing them, know about restaurants before visiting them, and it's always fun to see blogs of people that live all over the world.  I really like connecting with other bloggers throughout the world....hopefully I'd be able to visit some of those places one day!

The thing I dislike is the unnecessary comments...the "spam." If you're going to post a one-word comment like "nice" and leave a million links, I'd rather not have the comment at all.  Or the ones that are "I'll follow you if you follow me."  I'd rather have followers who genuinely enjoy reading my blog...instead of those looking for numbers :(

What's your number 1 song on iTunes/iPod?
Ooh this is a tough one!  My favorite this week is:
Redneck Crazy - Tyler Farr

What kind of style would you describe yourself as having?
I'm all over the place! A little girly, a bit trendy, sometimes preppy, sometimes casual chic. My style is too hard to describe!

Favorite Number?
My favorite number has to be 26....I hate odd numbers.

Two hobbies?
Eating and shopping.  Yep.  I said it.  I love eating -- I'm a true foodie.  And I can shop for hours on end! If I were rich, I'd shop every day all day.  Even online shopping/browsing makes me happy :) Oh and I love to bake! And I LOVE photography.  Haha that wasn't two.  Oh well.

Two pet peeves?
In the classroom with a white-board, I hate it when the teacher or professor erases the white board and leaves one little dot or line. I just want to get out of my seat and erase it for them haha.

Another pet peeve that I can think of is when people post a vague Facebook status...the kind where you know they're just waiting for someone to ask "what's wrong" "what happened?" "are you okay?"  They're usually a cry for attention...crazy!

We made it! Welcome to Part 3 of my empties!!!  I hope you've liked this little series...featuring my trash (Haha)

Suave Body Wash in Sweet Pea & Violet
Body wash bottles are so easy to go through! I am a big fan of the Sweet Pea scent at Bath & Body Works, so I figured I should try getting a body wash with that beautiful floral scent...but a cheaper version. Suave's range of body washes are so inexpensive that it would be stupid not to try them! I was satisfied with the scent, when I was lathering up my loofa in the shower, but I must admit that the beautiful sweet pea & violet scent does not last throughout the day.  It's not one of those amazing body washes that you can smell all day long on your skin.  But I'm not complaining...$2 is worth is -- especially if you're on a budget. I'd repurchase!

A 12 ounce bottle only costs $2

Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvinator
I got this mini version in a Birchbox a bit ago.  I kept it in my shower...because I'm always too lazy to splash my face with water, slather on a product, and rinse it off of my face (making a huge puddle of water on the sink and on the bathroom floor...and usually on my clothes).  So keeping this in the shower was the best solution! The texture of this product is a bit sandy, but I LOVED IT.  I used the product about 2-3 times a week and got so much use out of this mini sample bottle.  My face looked noticeably brighter after using this.  I'd repurchase it if I had the money for a full-size bottle!

A full-size bottle is $34

It's a 10 Miracle Deep Conditioner plus Keratin
I first tried this conditioner after my hair stylist used it on my hair.  When she was washing my hair, I got a huge whiff of this amazing smell...and I had to find out what product she was using.  Sadly, it was the It's a 10 conditioner. The scent of this product alone is reason to buy it. It makes your hair feel so soft and smooth, and gives off a beautiful smell throughout the day.  I would leave this conditioner on my hair while I washed my body, THEN rinse it out.  Amazing.  It's safe to say I would repurchase this...I've already gone through 2 of these! (My wallet is saying OUCH)

It costs about $20 at Target or ULTA, but you must buy it in-store.

Whish Shave Cream
I also got this mini bottle of shaving cream from a Birchbox a few months ago.  I couldn't get much use out of this product, because the bottle was so small! I used this shaving cream when I shaved my legs.  It gave off a nice scent and I have no complaints about it, but I would not repurchase.  I would simply rather buy a $2 shaving cream at Target instead.

The full-size is available for $20

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeeeep Conditioner
I cannot give this product enough praise.  It is an amazing deep conditioner that you leave on your hair for 3 minutes...it makes your hair soft, smooth, silky, shiny, everything! It is so inexpensive and TOTALLY worth it.  I have gone through probably 6 bottles of this.  I highly recommend trying this product out. You'll love it!

It only costs $2.97!!!

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque
They sell these sample packets for $4 at ULTA, or the huge tub of it for $33.  For some reason, I can't bring myself to purchase the big tub, but I have repurchased the little packets a few times.  This masque is blogged about A LOT...and I know why now.  It's a thick, creamy conditioning masque that you comb through your hair in the shower with.  I have to say this made my hair almost TOO soft.  It's that good.  It doesn't have a strong scent to it, but the fact that it transforms your hair into soft, flow-y amazingness speaks volumes.  I would highly recommend checking this masque out...even if you try the little sample packet like me :)

An 8.5 ounce tub costs $33

Have you tried any of these?! I know that hair masque and that Aussie Deep Conditioner are pretty popular among the blogging world :)

Welcome to Part 2 of my empties!!  These are three of the skin-care products I used up in the last couple of months.  I was extremely happy with all three of these products!

Mario Badescu Cucumber Cleansing Lotion
This cleansing lotion hands down was my savior! I have never seen such a difference after using a product until I began using this cleansing lotion.  This cleansing lotion is used as a toner.  It does not have a strong alcohol scent.  Instead, it smells like cucumbers and there are even little pieces of cucumber floating in the bottle. The toner itself is very gentle on the skin.  I usually apply some to a cotton round or an exfoliating cotton round, and wipe my face in outward motions.  I will use this every morning and night after removing my makeup, and before moisturizing my face.  AFter using this toner for a couple of weeks, the pores on my face were minimized in a huge way! I am so happy with the results from this lotion that I have already repurchased it.  I highly recommend this for those of you that have sensitive skin, as it is not a strong formula, but it does the trick!

An 8 ounce bottle costs $15

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner
Well that was a long name! I have had this toner in my collection for years -- I don't even remember when I purchased it, it's that old.  I believe it was during high school, so around 8/9 years ago.  This toner is a much stronger formula.  I would apply this toner just as I would the Cucumber Cleansing Lotion.  However, the Neutrogena toner is much stronger, giving off a strong alcohol smell.  It is supposed to help with treating acne caused by stress.  Surprisingly, I got used to the strong smell and really loved this toner when I used the last quarter of the bottle.  It did not transform my skin, but I have no complaints.  The product lives up to its "oil-free" claim, as it did not leave my skin oily at all.  I would repurchase, but I want to try out other brands as well.

An 8 ounce bottle costs about $8

If you haven't heard of Argan Oil yet, you are missing out.  Not only is Argan Oil great for your skin, it's also great for your hair, your nails, ... basically everything!  I used this argan oil as my night-time moisturizer for my face.  I personally have combination skin -- I definitely get oily in the T zone.  BUT don't be afraid to use oil on your face when you are oily.  My skin soaked up this argan oil like no other! It does not leave your face greasy at all, so it won't get on your pillows either.  The oil is also great to use on your hair -- I like to use a bit of it on the ends of my hair, to help prevent split and dry ends.  Another way I used this oil was all over my cuticles for my nails.  And last but not least, I used this oil all over my body as a lotion..especially on the dry areas like my knees and elbows.  This Argan Oil is so hydrating and smooth when applied.  I highly highly recommend trying it.  I have actually gone through three of these little bottles already, so it's safe to say it's a repurchase!  If you love it, I'd suggest buying the larger bottle, as it is a bit cheaper per ounce.

A 0.5 ounce bottle costs $14

Have you tried any of the Mario Badescu or Josie Maran products? Or maybe the Neutrogena toner? Let me know how you liked them!

Part 3 of my empties will be coming up soon :)

As you can see...I've been saving my empty beauty products for quite some time. I actually was saving them until I purchased a nice dSLR camera, so I could take nice pictures for my blog.  Can we say #bbloggerproblems

I had so many products saved up that I thought I'd split my empties into three parts! Bare with me here.

Oh, and P.S. Who else watched the Men's Finals of Wimbeldon?! What an exciting game!!  I'm so glad Murray won...and in only three sets!  I had goosebumps on that last game -- cheers to all of the UK bloggers reading this :)

Suave Dry Shampoo Spray
Hands down...this is my favorite dry shampoo to use.  I only discovered dry shampoo and its amazingness about two years ago, and I haven't been able to stop buying bottles of this spray since!  Dry Shampoo is a powdery spray for those days when you don't have time to take a shower in the morning.  It's great for getting rid of the greasy look in your hair that sometimes occurs on second-day or third-day hair.  It's also great to spray into clean hair.  If you're like me and have straight hair, it gives it that extra volume and boost, so your hair isn't lying flat and heavily weighed down.  I just spray the Dry Shampoo towards my roots, and then brush my fingers through the hair, so it doesn't leave a white powdery finish. Warning: Don't spray too much...because you can end up with too much powder on your roots.  You don't want to look like an old lady! Hahaha.  The Suave Dry Shampoo even has a great scent to it! Not only that, but it is extremely affordable...and a definite repurchase!

You can purchase it for about $3

MAC Lipstick in Matte Viva Glam 1
Don't kill me now...but this is the one and only MAC lipstick I own have owned.  This was actually the very first lipstick I remember buying.  It is a matte finish, and Viva Glam 1 is a darker red shade.  This lipstick really showed me how the quality of MAC products is like no other.  It can be applied either straight to your lips for a darker, more pigmented finish.  But it can also be applied with a lip pencil brush for a lighter, more precise finish.  I think this shade is the perfect go-to dark red lipstick.  It's a classy color and looks wonderful with a black winged eyeliner for a night out. I'd repurchase this in a heartbeat!

You can purchase it for $15

Juicy Couture Original Perfume
I don't go through more expensive perfume bottles very often...so I REALLY wanted to share this empty with you ladies.  This is the original Juicy Couture scent and is described as having notes of watermelon, green apple, rose, vanilla, and passion fruit. It's on the lighter end, as opposed to the more muskier scents.  And let's all take a moment to admire that bottle.......isn't it gorgeous?! The packaging alone would sell me to buy this perfume again!  The only downside to this perfume is that it does not last me the entire day.  The best solution to that is putting the Juicy Couture Original Lotion on first, then spraying the perfume on top.  Having the lotion underneath with the perfume on top almost locks in the beautiful light scent, making it last much longer.  I'd highly recommend this perfume as a gift for birthdays or bridal showers, as it is quite feminine. I would repurchase this perfume, but I have too many on my wish list!

You can find it for around $70

Have you tried any of these products? How do you like them?

I recently went to K-Mart the other day.....yes, K-Mart.  Honestly K-Mart is not my favorite store, but I went there specifically because I knew they would have this one shade of blush.

I have been wanting to try out the Milani Baked Blush in 05 - Luminoso for so long...and every time I go to Target or CVS, they are sold out of that shade (probably because it's amazing).

I have never tried any blushes from Milani, but I am pleasantly surprised.  The blush costs about $7.99 and can be found at Target, K-Mart, CVS, Walgreens, etc.

The gold packaging is a little cheap-looking, but the blush itself lifts up to reveal a mirror and a brush underneath.  The brush is not really usable -- but I guess it's a plus to have if you're in a rush.

Luminoso is a peachy shade with a hint of golden shimmer.  It's a bit powdery to the touch, but when you apply it with a blush brush to your face, it's not powdery at all!  It has such a beautiful and smooth finish, and leaves your cheeks with the most beautiful peachy/coral glow.

The color is quite blendable -- I have been wearing it by itself, or blending it with my MAC Minerealize Blush in Gentle, to add some pink.

Luminoso goes on fairly sheer, but it is extremely blendable, so you can get a great color payoff.

I highly, highly recommend trying out this Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso -- or in any of the other shades that they offer.  I bought this about three weeks ago and have worn it every single day since...so it's obviously a new favorite.

Have you tried the Milani Baked Blushes?! How do you like them?

First of all...

One of my absolute favorite restaurants is called Schooner or Later.  It was even featured on the Food Network's Diner's Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri.  I went there last Friday AND Saturday (yes...I love it that much) for brunch with my two sisters, brother-in-law, and niece...and it didn't disappoint.  Most people go there for the Bloody Mary's, Mimosas, schooners of beer, and outdoor seating with an amazing view.  You usually have to wait for about an hour on the weekends before getting seated (but that's when the Bloody Mary's and Mimosas come in).  They also have great coffee....my love.

One of their famous dishes is "The Mess."  I get it almost every single time.  You can even get the "Half Mess" if you're not feeling starving.  The Mess is described on their website as "This world famous, local tradition is a tasty blend of chopped ham, onion, and bell pepper grilled with hash browns and eggs.  Topped with melted Cheddar cheese. Served with sourdough toast."  You can even top your Mess with Chili, Avocado, or Sour Cream.  I recommend topping it with chili!  Their salsa is amazzzzzzing and goes great with The Mess.  They have other things on their menu, but if you go there, go for The Mess!

Here are a few of the pictures from our amazing brunch at Schooner!

The beautiful view.  We lucked out -- it was a perfectly sunny day!

Delicious cappuccino & coffee

My other sister's Schooner of Sierra Nevada Mmmmm

My niece....and the beer.  It's huge, right?!

My sister's Eggs Benedict

"The Mess" with Chili

Me and my beautiful niece! Poor thing had sunscreen in her right eye...but she still looked beautiful

Have you ever gone to a restaurant just because it's been on the Food Network?! ......and was it worth it?!

I love it when I can spend the weekends doing activities outside....especially things that don't cost a lot of money! A couple of weekends ago, my best friend and I went for a hike in Palos Verdes....specifically around the Trump National Golf Course.  The hike was absolutely breathtaking.  It was such a clear day and spending time with my bff who lives about 1.5 hours away was great, as always.  I took my camera along and wanted to share some of the pictures from the hike.  We had so much fun on the trail, walking along the beach, and climbing on the rocks!

We tried to take a picture of ourselves...it's much more difficult than it looks haha.  I mean...look at our hair! The wind was not on our side haha. My sunglasses are Vogue Brand..from Macy's/Sunglasses Hut ..the ones that I lost the other day :(

These beautiful waterfalls are part of the golf course...so beautiful!

Where do you like to go on the sunny weekends?

Sorry I haven't posted too many things lately...I've been quite busy with work.   It's been a stressful few days. My boss even told me yesterday "EARTHHH TO KELLY."  <--- Rude, right? Oh well...today's a new day.

I just wanted to share this picture of the hanging succulent plant I got my sister for Mother's Day (I got one for my mom too).  Isn't it the cutest? I adore succulents -- they're so stylish and mini!!  I swear...everything mini is too cute to resist!

I hope you all have a great Wednesday!

I am a big believer in makeup setting sprays.  If you ask me, they are one of the most important steps in your beauty routine.  Not only do they get your face ready for makeup, set your foundation, eyeshadow, etc.....BUT they also give such a beautiful finish to your face.

My first favorite setting spray is the MAC Fix+.  This 3.4 ounce bottle is $21 at MAC. You can also get a mini bottle for your purse for only $10.  This spray is absolutely worth the money.  Not only does it spray out the finest mist, but it smells great and leaves the perfect finish to your makeup.  I even think it adds the smallest...the tiniest amount of shimmer to your face to help make it look alive.  It makes my makeup stay all day long.  The product is simple -- it sets your makeup and is even great to spray onto your brush before applying eyeshadows to get a different bolder effect.  I highly, highly recommend this product for everyone.  It is a must-have!

My other favorite setting spray is the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rose Water.  This spray is about $7 for a 4 ounce bottle, or $12 for an 8 ounce bottle on their website.  I first heard about this spray from watching Jaclyn Hill YouTube videos.  She swears by this brand (that is saying a lot coming from someone like her, who used to work at MAC).  This spray is perfect for getting that added moisture throughout the day.  I keep my 4 ounce bottle in my purse.  It's lightweight, smells like roses *yum* and prevents your makeup from looking too cakey and dry.  I love having both of these sprays...the Fix+ for setting the makeup, and the Mario Badescu spray for getting that dewey face throughout the day. When you use things like the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, it can sometimes leave your face looking powder-y...so finishing it off with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray helps!

I'm very interested in trying the Urban Decay setting spray.  Are there any that you recommend?
