Last Saturday, I drove to the Pasadena Convention Center to IMATS Los Angeles.  I have never been to IMATS before, and because I watch so many Youtube gurus and have a slight addiction to buying makeup, I figured I should go!

I must say...the lines were super long and the convention was a lot smaller than I expected.  However, it was amazing to be surrounded by makeup lovers and Youtube celebrities!  I only made a few purchases and then left -- because the lines were THAT long.  The ticket for 1-day cost $50 which was a bit much for not getting a goody bag, and not having a lot of booths to choose from.  The perk of going to IMATS was being able to see Youtubers shopping around, and getting the discounted IMATS prices.

I was able to make some purchases from Sigma Beauty, NYX Cosmetics, and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.  (I waited in line for my Sigma purchases for an hour!)

I was able to see Meghan Rosette, ThatsHeart, Lauren Elizabeth, BeyondBeautyStar, Nicole Guerrero, Jaclyn Hill, Eleventh Gorgeous, LollyDolly128,  Tealaxx2, Missglamourazzi, MakeupByTiffanyD, and many more! There were a few makeup demonstrations going on...including a lady who became a tree! They were quite extreme...but so fun to look at!

Here are a few pics I was able to capture during my experience at IMATS LA.

......and here were my purchases

I bought....

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Pretty Boy
NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick in Hunk (already a favorite)
NYX Cosmetics HD Photogenic Concealer
NYX Cosmetics Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippie in Watermelon Cooler & Berry Mojito (not sold online yet)
NYX Cosmetics Nude Matte Shadow in Haywire
Sigma Beauty F05 Small Contour Brush
Sigma Beauty F25 Tapered Face Brush
Sigma Beauty F82 Round Kabuki Brush

Happy Saturday!

After many trips to the mall in December....and far too many trips to Sephora, I couldn't help myself from purchasing this mini set from Benefit Cosmetics.  Those items in the checkout line get me every time!  That is some strategic placement from the marketing staff at Sephora.

The Sephora Exclusive package includes mini versions of the posie tint, sun beam, and cha cha tint!  I have only tried out one of Benefit's tint items: Benetint --- and I love it.  So I thought I couldn't go wrong adding a few more products to my makeup collection.

The first item, posietint, is described as a "poppy-pink tinted lip & cheek stain."  As you can see in the swatch, it is a very bright Barbie pink.  The shade reminds me of the e.l.f. Blush in Pink Passion.  As you can see in the swatch, it goes on very translucent, which is great.  You don't want to look like a five year old when you are heading to an office job! The posietint was my favorite of the three in the box.  It's more wearable than the cha cha tint...and it's not as deep of a pink/red like benetint.

Sun Beam is described as a "golden bronze highlighter."  It is such a beautiful bronzy gold highlighter.  I mean...look at that swatch! It has such a bright, even shimmer.  Although I love the swatch, I found that Sun Beam was extremely difficult to wear.  I normally stick to powder highlighters like Mac's Soft & Gentle or highlighter sticks like Benefit's Watt's Up.  However....Sun Beam is a liquid highlighter.  That was quite a problem.  Because I don't have silky smooth skin, I felt as though using this liquid highlighter did not look good with the rest of my makeup.

All three of these products can be applied with the nail polish-esque brush that comes with each.  Painting on a highlighter above my cheek bone was easy...but when I tried to blend it in to my makeup, it just became splotchy and it was not pretty to look at. Thumbs down.

Cha Cha Tint is described as a "mango tinted lip & cheek stain."  I am not the biggest fan of orange shades on my face, but I figured why not.  After applying the Cha Cha Tint on my lips, I quickly decided that I have been right all along.  Orange is not my color haha.  I'm sure it would look great on people with darker skin tones, but unfortunately I am quite pale (thanks to my Irish dad haha).

I hope you enjoyed these mini reviews....let me know if you have tried any of these Benefit products!

Hi. My name is Kelly and I love coffee.
Admitting it is the first step, right?

I have always loved coffee.  Seriously.  When my sisters and I were little (like 6 years old little), we would be allowed to have the tiniest cup of coffee whenever we went to our grandparents' house for dinner.  That's when it all began.

I have had my share of coffee drinks throughout the year, the people at Starbucks know my name, and I have seen hundreds of beautiful photos of espresso drinks on Youtube, Instagram, tumblr, and a zillion blogs...BUT I sadly have never gotten one of those "pretty coffee drinks" before.

Ordering a coffee drink with a fancy design in the foam has always been in my dreams, but never in my reality.  So I decided to change all of that! Thanks to the Internet and peoples' (my) obsession with taking pictures of food and drinks, I was able to find a few places near me that made their coffee the fancy way.

My dad and I decided to venture out to Crema Cafe on Main Street in Seal Beach one Sunday morning.

The Crema Cafe has a great location on the Main Street, although it is quite hidden.  You can go to the Crema Cafe to order quick items to go, but if you eat there, you can sit either indoor or outdoor! I always love being able to sit outside when it's nice and sunny out, because people watching is my favorite.

For my first-ever fancy coffee drink, I ordered a Caramel Macchiato...Starbucks style.  And let me tell did not disappoint!

Look at it!! It's beautiful, right?! It was not only beautifully-made, but it tasted magnificent.  Because my body is so used to coffee, the caffeine it doesn't tend to affect me much at all.  Every once in a while, I will get jittery after having an espresso drink.  THIS WAS ONE OF THOSE TIMES.  I was buzzing around all day and it was all thanks to that Caramel Macchiato! It wasn't too bitter, but wasn't too sweet.  It was perfect.

Of course I have to talk about the food.....
The bacon and potatoes were by far the best items that my dad and I ordered.  Their potato side-dish was to die for.  It consisted of simply some quartered red potatoes with thinly sliced onions......and the perfect amount of salt and pepper.  Their bacon was definitely a thick-cut sliced bacon, but it was a dream and a must-try.

I ordered a Make-Your-Own omelette, which was okay.  The omelette was a little too watery for my taste (I like my eggs scrambled and very dry).  The Crema Cafe had such an extensive breakfast menu that an "okay omelette" is definitely not going to stop me from visiting the restaurant again.

The Caramel Macchiato stayed beautiful until the very last drop! I had to snap a picture of the perfect drink.

I would highly recommend any coffee lover...or breakfast lover to check out Crema Cafe in Seal Beach, California!

Saturday morning, I enjoyed a lovely brunch with a few of my best friends.  We decided to go for brunch at Claire's at the Long Beach Museum of Art.  Choosing a place to go for brunch on the weekends is pretty easy when you live in such a gorgeous place....and restaurants with beautiful ocean views like Claire's are no exception.

A brunch with my foodies at Claire's at the Museum wouldn't be complete without a Mimosa or a Bloody Mary!  We were sure to start with a simple cup of coffee, but very soon after, we got to the good stuff.  The mimosas were perfection, and the Bloody Mary was uniquely delicious (it has cucumbers in it if you can tell).

I decided on the Country Breakfast...complete with scrambled eggs, house potatoes, bacon, sausage, toast, and fresh fruit.  It's everything you could ask for in a breakfast.  The best part of the meal would have to be the potatoes...once I added a pinch of salt and pepper, they were perfection.  Having potatoes with red and green bell peppers and onions is always a good idea.

The only other breakfast dish I have tried from Claire's was the Breakfast Burrito...and that does NOT disappoint!  If I were to choose between the Country Breakfast and the Breakfast Burrito, I'd definitely go with the Breakfast Burrito -- only because the fruit wasn't the freshest, and the sausage wasn't my favorite.  But all in all, it was a beautifully delicious breakfast with even better drinks.

And the best perk of all: it's connected to a museum!

Just wanted to share a few of my favorite pictures from the brunch.  If you go on a clear day, the view is breathtaking.  I hope you all had a lovely weekend...and for those of you on the East Coast: I hope you're staying warm and safe!
